Who the heck am I?

I’m just a forty-something-year-old married-for-the-second-time dad who is trying to find his place in the world…no more, no less.

077Of course, I’m also a man who found the love of his life…and after almost four years of surviving a long-distance relationship, we’re both enjoying our blended family happiness now that I’ve moved to her city.  Two happy parents, five happy children (though none with each other), and a world of love and hope and fun; it makes for an interesting ride.

This blog contains the random thoughts.  There’s no specific “format” that I follow…it could really be anything.  And that’s what makes it so much fun to write.

Thanks for dropping by my blog.  Your visit is very much appreciated.  Go ahead…drop a line and say “hi”.

014I’m Todd, the “Canadian Bald Guy”.

I used to have hair before my two children were born….but you know what?  I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Welcome to my insanity.   🙂

  1. Welcome fellow Canadian! I’ve been a lurker (I confess) who found you from comments left on Ms. Single Mama’s site….lovin’ your entires!

  2. just wanted to say your presence on iHeart and your comments on my personal blog are so appreciated. I can’t tell you how comforting it is to have the support of single dads like you along with single mommas.
We are all one big team! We got eachother’s backs.

p.s. Bald is back in a big way. I’ve always loved guys with no hair. (My pops for starters). Keep rockn’ it….and don’t be a stranger!

  3. Thanks, MSM!!

And you’re exactly right…we are all one big team. I’m just glad you’ve got a network to lean on during tough times in your life like this.

And the iHeart site is pretty awesome. I’m glad to be a part of it.

  4. Hi Canadian Bald Guy. I’m a Canadian bald guy too 8=) I’m not a single parent though. It must be difficult at times but I know that being a parent is definitely worth it. My wife and I have 2 (ages 10 and 4) and we love it.

Good luck with your family and with this blog.

  5. Just stumbled across your blog – great stuff. Will be back!

From across the country – it’s veddy nice to see another Canadian bald guy blogging – there should be waaay more of us!

  6. I am a thirty something dad and loosing hair too! I guess it makes good sense that I subscribe to this blog owned by a thirty something dad who used to have hair! 😛

  7. This is a nice blog. I’ve just started blogging and I’m not sure what I want to do with it, but certainly your blog is a good example of just sharing thoughts and takes on things.

Bald in Canada. I remember the first I came back from the high country and had a sunburn on the top of my head. I thought I had hair up there. Last week on a motorcycle trip with my oldest son, 42, I saw him walking away from me and there was that thin round patch on his crown. My sons tease me and I tease them back, but it looks like they’re following me.

    40 ain’t old.

Justice Brandeis and Justice Holmes (I’m not sure of the names, but old guys) were walking down the street together when a very beautiful young woman came walking their direction. After she passed Brandeis said to Holmes, “Ah to be 70 again.”

    1. I absolutely appreciate getting this from you. Thank you. However, I have to admit that I’m not one to do these “memes” very often…so if I don’t write anything about this or send off this award to others, it’s only because it’s just not my bag.

But again, I really appreciate you taking the time to send me this. It means a lot when people appreciate my writing.

  8. I chanced upon your blog while checking out Marie of Roxette, I just love reading your blog..it has a heart, i love the post about your Mom, she is one great survivor!

    1. Thank you for the comments, Gazzel.

Unfortunately, my mom lost her cancer battle a little over two years ago. She was a great survivor, though…and she’ll always survive through this blog and my memories of her.
