With all the craziness going on in my life recently, I have totally forgotten to write about something from a couple of weeks ago that’s kinda wild and affects each and every one of us..kinda. Have you heard the news about how horoscopes are changing?
YOU MAY NOT BE WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE!!
According to some guy at the Minnesota Planetarium Society, our current zodiac signs were created 2000 years ago and in the time since the earth’s axis has changed…bumping the alignment of the stars ahead about a month. It’s not just one person’s opinion, unfortunately…it’s just how the stars are currently aligned.
Therefore, this is the breakdown of how the new zodiac looks:
Capricorn – Jan 20 to Feb 16
Aquarius – Feb 16 to Mar 11
Pisces – Mar 11 to Apr 18
Aries – Apr 18 to May 13
Taurus – May 13 to Jun 21
Gemini – Jun 21 to Jul 20
Cancer – Jul 20 to Aug 10
Leo – Aug 10 to Sep 16
Virgo – Sep 16 to Oct 30
Libra – Oct 30 to Nov 23
Scorpio – Nov 23 to Nov 29
Ophiuchus – Nov 29 to Dec 17
Sagittarius – Dec 17 to Jan 20
I looked at this and said that I absolutely REFUSED to be a Leo. I mean, I’ve been a Virgo for 38 years…why change now?
Then I read around and found that our current zodiac system has technically been wrong from the very beginning. Ancient Babylonians actually had THIRTEEN constellations but wanted only twelve. Some sign called Ophuchicus was dropped…but now it’s actually back in play. So yeah…there are thirteen signs now.
But here’s the rub: a good number of astrologers out there are trying to de-bunk these “claims” (they’re more facts, aren’t they?) by saying that Western astrology is based on the “tropical zodiac”, which basically means it’s fixed to our four seasons and is always going to be the same. In fact, it’s Eastern astrology that is based on the “sidereal zodiac” and it’s the folks in that part of the world that will have to start worrying about that cool-ass scorpion tattoo on their butt-cheek.
Okay…so basically at the end of the day nothing will change for us (well, at least if you live in “the West”). Still…this revelation almost rocked me to my very core. Kinda.
Hey readers…is there anybody who lives in an Eastern culture out there who has to change their zodiac sign?
