As some of you know, I’ve got a wedding coming up that I’m trying to prepare for. Where Sunshine and I have pretty much every detail in hand, there still is one thing I’m working on: my physique.
I’m not going to kid myself and say that I’m losing 20lbs in two months, but I want to be a better me…so I’ve been going out for walks every day this week and dieting a little bit (no late night snacks, no afternoon snacks, no morning snacks…you kind of get where I’m going, right?).
Well, for anybody who goes out walking/jogging/running, you know how important it is to have music playing that can help inspire you to continue going even when your body is screaming for you to slow down or stop altogether.
So here are some of the songs that help keep me going when I’m about ready to find a McDonald’s and gulp down three greasy Egg McMuffins…
REVO by Walk Off The Earth. This is the title track from WOTE’s debut album. I’m a MASSIVE fan of this band and this is one of those songs that, once heard all the way through, you can’t help but find your toes tapping and your head bobbing. The best part about this song is that it’s got a GREAT beat, so I always pick-up the pace when it’s on.
Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is – Jet. I haven’t really listened to this song very much over the past few years, so it’s almost like I’m listening to it for the first time all over again. I sometimes feel myself playing “air drums” when walking…so much so I have to catch myself and stop to look around to see if anybody’s watching me.
Hey Porsche – Nelly. This video is cheesy as all get-out, but the song is AWESOME to get my walks started.
Blurred Lines – Robin Thicke feat. Pharrell & TI. I loved this song from the first moment I heard that beat followed by the “hey hey hey”. Honestly, I’ve caught myself on more than one occasion DANCING to this song instead of walking. Legit. I absolutely think this song is killer and it’s awesome to walk to.
So…what motivates you to keep going when you’re out and about?
