I’ve had an absolutely incredible 2012. I mean…I got engaged, I moved to another city, and I started a new job. But my words just can’t do justice to the photos I took this year, nor can just one post.
So please sit back and enjoy the first part of my photo recap of 2012…
01-02-12: The kids were showing off their new sock monkeys to ring-in the new year.
01-08-12 — Goin’ out on a date!
03-07-12 — I made a bet with a friend at work where we would have a foot race in July. The winner would win $50 and the loser would also have to wear a dress at work. I decided to kick-start my training by getting outside in -22 degree weather at 6:30am. What in the heck was I thinking?
03-18-12 — Somehow we managed to fall backwards into enough money to buy a cruise to the Caribbean. This was the morning of our departure from Tampa, Florida.
03-18-12 — Taken from the Lido Deck of the Carnival Legend as we were ready to leave Tampa, Florida.
03-18-12 — Because I`m not the shy and quiet type, I had to volunteer in a game show on the first night on board. Yes…I won.
03-19-12 — Got up nice and early to go work out WHILE ON A CRUISE!! I just wanted to document the occasion.
03-19-12 — Sunshine thought it’d be fun to judge a hairy-chest contest. Not something you do every day…
03-19-12 (the engagement!) — This one picture really defines my entire year. Absolutely one of the happiest moments of my entire life.
03-20-12 — Sunshine and I (in our post-engagement afterglow) posing in front of the Carnival Legend on the docks in Grand Cayman.
03-20-12 — My ONLY regret of the entire cruise…not buying a bottle of “Big Black Dick” bbq wing sauce. I mean, like it says…”You’ll suck the meat off the bone”. How did I decide to NOT BUY THIS??
03-20-12 — This is one of my favorite pictures from the entire year. While in Grand Cayman, I came THISCLOSE to an iguana. I could have picked the thing up and taken him home with me. And when he turned to me, it just made for an awesome pic!
03-20-12 — How often does one get to say that they spent some time in Hell and actually mean it?
03-20-12 — This picture showcases one of the MANY ships on sticks that we won on our cruise. Yes, we know that we’re the only ones who get this excited about plastic trinkets. We don’t care.
03-21-12 — Ahh yes…the “living statues” in Cozumel, Mexico. I’m thankful that Sunshine saw this one move before he tried to startle her (she startles easily…lol).
03-21-12 — I realize that these guys in Cozumel were totally playing up stereotypes in order to get tourists to pay them money for pics, but I don’t care…this is a fun photo!
03-22-12 — I loved this day. This picture was taken en route to the jungles of Belize so we could go cave tubing. Seriously. For reals. Anyhoo…”Speedo” decided to break out the cashew wine on the bus so we could all enjoy a little taste of the local adult beverage. Fun times!
03-22-12 — After finishing the most incredible time cave-tubing in Belize (it still seems a bit surreal at this point), we sat down to enjoy some authentic chicken tamales with some sugar-cane-made Coca Cola while still in the jungle!
03-23-12 — All excited after working out on the ship (again) at 6am. I need to remember THIS FEELING in 2013 so that I can start enjoying exercise again.
03-23-12 — We were so blessed on this trip. This picture was taken while on a tour of Honduras.
03-23-12 — How amazing is this? When would we EVER be able to hang out with monkeys while in Honduras again? A once-in-a-lifetime moment.
03-23-12 — Speaking of once-in-a-lifetime moments, when will a macaw EVER sit on top of my head again?
03-23-12 — We’re extremely fortunate in that strangers seem to always ask us if we want our pictures taken. It’s a cool thing because otherwise we wouldn’t be able to enjoy a photo like this one: with the spectacular beaches of Roatan, Honduras behind us.
03-25-12 — This was our “total haul” from the cruise: 6 towel animals, 6 “ships on a stick”, 3 medals, and a “karaoke star” lanyard. All in all, I’d say an extremely successful cruise!
Well…that’s all for now. More pics to come!
