It’s a punch in the stomach to know that someone you know has passed away. Needless to say, I got punched pretty hard yesterday afternoon.
My friend Jaclyn was an amazing young woman…full of life and fun and joy. That life was cut short on Saturday evening when the vehicle she was in (with her family, no less) was t-boned by another vehicle…killing her instantly. She had just celebrated her 33rd birthday on Friday.
On top of that, I found out that there was an accident where a man was killed on Friday night. The importance of the accident is that this happened literally five to ten minutes after I was there, making my final turns to get to Sunshine’s house after my 3-hour drive from home.
What if this had been me? What if I arrived only ten minutes later?
It’s just crazy how quickly life can end in an instant. You just never know what’s going to happen.
Just one more reminder to cherish every moment you have and make the most of your life whenever you can.
Time is fleeting. It’s our job to make the most of it.

Wow. This gave me chills. I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Absolutely devastating news. And the second accident, mere minutes after you were in that same spot? God is watching (if you believe…), I firmly believe that. A strong message to receive.

being in the business of selling casket and seeing dead people being embalmed all the time, it sort of made me feel grounded.
