As previously mentioned, I’m currently house shopping.
I haven’t done much looking around lately because, quite frankly, nobody’s even been LOOKING at my place. It’s a shame, too…because the description and pictures on the realtor’s website make it look pretty darn good for the price (imo).
Anyway, I finally went to visit House #3 a couple of days ago. This one was at the top of my budget but it seemed to be worth looking into.
Apparently, this place used to be half-house/half-daycare…where half of the duplex was living area and the other half was where the kids went wild.
If nothing else, at least that explains the wild colors.
My dad (also a real estate agent) was pretty high on this one. Sure, it would take a bit of paint (okay…a LOT of paint), new windows, and a new roof…but once done there was definitely rental possibilities from one half of the duplex.
The problem, though, is that this place is a repo and just went on the market this week. So that means even though it’s overpriced (and trust me…this thing is overpriced), the bank won’t even LOOK at a lower offer unless the house has been sitting there for a little while.
So another day, another viewing, another “meh”.
The search continues…

Our house was on the market for a year before it was foreclosed on in a ‘short sale’ when we bought it. We got it for about $80k less then it was worth/originally priced.
Keep your eye on the place, you never know. Best of luck house hunting!

CBG, when you walk in to the right house, you will know it. P.S. I am totally embarrassed about calling Edge, The Edge. I rely on you to correct my spelling, grammar and other blog faux pas. TGIF

Yep, you’ll know it when you see it. Just like meeting the right girl.
