My son is slowly becoming a fan of Thomas & Friends. It’s one of those things where he doesn’t have much of a choice (lol). I’ve got stickers on the walls…his bed is a Thomas bed…I’ve even got a slightly-used Thomas train set with his name on it when he gets old enough.
So I was pretty excited when I received an email this week from Jillian Kaster, who is promoting a Thomas & Friends mall tour. She asked if I’d be interested in promoting the tour across Canada.
Heck yeah I’d be interested in promoting it!! My son would LOVE it!! When is it coming to the Maritimes so I can take him??
Sorry the tour isn’t coming to the Maritimes. It starts in Surrey, B.C. and ends at Ontario Place.
Grrrrrr. ![]()
The performances are free, and raise awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Sigh.
Oh well, I guess I can’t stay mad atcha…especially when it’s for the children!!
So this post is basically for my fellow Canadian parents who just happen to live west of Quebec. If you’ve got a child who is into Thomas the Tank Engine, you’ll definitely want to know the following information:
THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE: HERO OF THE RAILS
New Thomas the Tank Engine Show to Visit 17 Canadian Cities
Kidomo, Canada’s leader in the field of live children’s entertainment programming, announces the launch of their latest tour Thomas the Tank Engine: Hero of the Rails. This live musical show featuring the beloved children’s character Thomas the Tank Engine will visit 17 shopping centres across Canada. Admission is free to each 30-minute performance.
Thomas the Tank Engine: Hero of the Rails offers young children and their parents or caregivers a unique opportunity to see one of their favourite storybook and television characters in a live performance in their own hometown. Don’t miss the fun as Thomas, along with Railway Manager Sir Topham Hatt and the Station Master, make tracks to great Canadian destinations. A full tour itinerary can be found at www.kidomo.net (or just scroll down the page a bit) or on Facebook at ‘Thomas the Tank Engine: Hero of the Rails Spring 2009 Canadian Tour’. Join our Facebook page for tour info, contesting and behind-the-scenes photos.
Thomas the Tank Engine is one of the most beloved children’s characters in storybooks, video and television. Thomas was created 60 years ago when The Reverend W. Awdry penned the original Thomas & Friends books for his son Christopher. Since then, millions of young children have entered a world of imagination through the tracks of a train and the words of the Thomas stories.
Throughout the tour awareness will be raised for the Children’s Miracle Network – a non-profit organization dedicated to children’s health care. There are 14 children’s hospitals in Canada that provide critical care, research and education to over 2.5 million children each year. To find out more about Children’s Miracle Network or to contribute please visit to www.childrensmiraclenetwork.ca.
So if you’re in the area of any of these malls, please go take the kids out for a bit of fun and support a great cause.
If nothing else…do it for me and my son, who (unfortunately) won’t be able to see the shows.
